Role Purpose:
Reporting directly to the Value Stream Finance Director, this role is a critical one within the team business partnering the Nacelles and Composites Value Stream (NASCOM) within Actuation Systems. You will be a results-driven financial controller directing a small team providing insight, financial analysis and support to the Operational Managers in NASCOM including reporting, financial planning, supporting strategic direction and financial advice. This is a hybrid role based out of the Wolverhampton Campus with occasional travel to Banbury
.
Key Responsibilities:
Be an inspiring leader to a team of four finance business partners supporting a culture of continuing personal development
Provide financial insight and advice to the NASCOM Value Stream management team; generate reporting and analysis to support decision making and satisfy internal reporting.
Challenge the business to meet targets and drive growth in performance
Preparation of the Value Stream’s forecasts, budgets and strategic financial plans
Report on performance against forecast and budget
Work collaboratively with other Value Stream Finance teams, the Actuation Systems Centre of Excellence and the European Shared Service Centre to share learning and identify opportunities for process standardisation and efficiencies
Support continuous improvement and deployment through active participation on Lean Events, Workshops and Continuous Improvement activities. Proactively seek to create opportunities for improvement in Finance and the wider business
Ensure the team maintains a strong control environment and complies with Collins Aerospace’s accounting policies and procedures in line with US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley and international accounting standards
Coordinate audit processes for the Value Stream Finance team
Skills and Experience
Degree educated, Qualified accountant (ICAEW, ACCA or CIMA) with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience
Flexible team member with commitment to the success of the function and organisation
Strong commercial acumen, with good understanding of business cases and investment analysis with experience of working in a commercial environment and contributing to decision making
Business partnering experience with ability to influence and motivate business leaders and finance colleagues
Proactive and hands-on approach to problem solving
Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel skills
Experience of reporting to a senior level, preferably within a multinational engineering / manufacturing organisation
Ability to make timely and effective judgements
Knowledge of US and UK GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley legislation
Experienced user of SAP and HFM
