There is an opening for a Financial Analyst - Cost, who will be a key business partner in forecasting, performance reporting, and expense management. This position would involve conducting financial modeling on various financial products, as well as measuring, analyzing and forecasting performance in conjunction with operating plans, you're a good fit for this position. This Financial Analyst role, which is a year long contract based in the Newmarket, Ontario, area with hybrid work schedule.
Your responsibilities in this role
- Participate in planning with senior executives on strategic deep dives by developing financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, event tracking and execution, strategic resource allocation, and prioritization
- Oversee the monthly and quarterly financial close process by working with Accounting
- Own monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and actions required
- Inspect performance to date and assess potential risks and opportunities
- Facilitate effective Business Intelligence (BI) to provide forward-looking insight and decision support
- Analyze annual performance by comparing actual results to their expectations and supply information to business partners to inform decision making
- Perform extensive research on the underlying internal and external drivers that are affecting performance and trending
- Maintain weekly, quarterly and annual Area/Segment-level Bookings and P& L forecasting
- Support contacts in Accounting and Operations to execute business plans
- Produce and manage forecasting reports
- Flexible candidate that can organize a vast amount of information while managing high expectations
- Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
- Firm understanding of problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
- Strong understanding of cost and inventory analysis & accounting
- Practical knowledge of inventory planning & reporting
- Foundational knowledge in Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation
- Well-founded grasp of costing
- Proven knowledge of Inventory Reconciliation
- Strong familiarity with account reconciliation
- Financial analysis experience required
- Expense Reconciliation experience highly desired
- Quality experience with Inventory Variance
- Comprehensive knowledge of cost accounting
- Financial planning & analysis (go-to-market experience preferable)
- Qualified in Spreadsheet and ERP system
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively throughout all levels of the company
- Proficiency with Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools required
- BA/BS degree in finance or a related field
