We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join a growing organization. The Financial Accountant will be working closely with the VP of Finance & Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis. If you enjoy collaborating with a team that improves systems and processes, this is the role for you! The Financial Accountant will have the opportunity to work hybrid based out of Burnaby, BC

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare journal entries and analysis of financials
• Work with monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets and forecasting
• Prepare monthly bank and account reconciliations including cash, accounts payable, receivables, revenue, and accruals
• Assist with month-end and quarter-end closures
• Prepare government remittances
• Prepare working papers and preparation of financial statements for year-end audits
• Liaison with various departments, and branches throughout Canada and external vendors
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Pursuing CPA designation, ideally in the PEP phase
• 4+ years of progressing accounting experience with the last year at an Intermediate level
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• A strong aptitude for financial systems, experience with an ERP software is an asset
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office/Microsoft Excel
• Experience working with SQL and database management will be considered an asset
