Join our Finance team as a Financial Accountant on a 15 month contract

Our Finance team play an important role in helping us to achieve our vision by supporting colleagues across the organisation to achieve the best value for money, pay for goods and services and understand complex financial information. Our finance specialists work across a number of teams including Corporate Finance, Financial Management and Procurement. The role

We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join us in the position of Financial Accountant in Camden. This role will have hybrid working. In this role, you will be responsible for producing monthly statutory accounts and the year-end financial statements, whilst contributing to a good control environment through schedules, reconciliations and the investigation of unusual balances. Some further responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare monthly statutory financial statements, assigned notes to the accounts and lead schedules for subsidiaries. 
  • Support other areas of financial accounting and the wider finance team to ensure accuracy of the accounts and a good control environment.
  • Analysis of balance sheet items and work with other areas of the finance department to ensure regular balance sheet cleansing.
  • Completion of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Work closely with the Group Financial Controller to ensure smooth operation of month end tasks.
  • Assist with the preparation and collation of audit evidence and working papers

What you will need to succeed

We are looking for someone who believes in working together as part of a team, who shares our values and who is positive and friendly. The successful candidate will:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CIPFA) 
  • A degree or equivalent qualification preferred
  • Previous experience in either a G15 Housing Association or in a comparable company
  • Working knowledge of SUN Systems, Q&A
  • Working knowledge of K Trinity or other statutory reporting package
