The Division

The Customer Strategy and Technology team within Transport leads the development of long-term, multi-modal strategies, plans and policies across NSW. We leverage data and insights, implement new technologies, drive innovation and build partnerships to provide customer-centred solutions.    

 

The opportunity

Right now, we have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Officer to join us in the Customer Strategy and Technology team.

 

The role will support the day-to-day management of the recurrent and capital budgets, working collaboratively with project teams to ensure the delivery of planned initiatives within allocated funds.

The successful candidate will proactively partner with project teams and provide support on finance activities including budgeting, forecasting, reporting and  managing variances to budgets. The role will contribute to improving the overall efficiency of the function by evaluating the various processes and bringing in best practices and innovation.

About you

You are a self driven, accomplished finance business partner with experience in budgeting, forecasting, monitoring and reporting in a complex financial environment.

 

You are proficient in the use of corporate computing systems and applications such as ERP/SAP accounting systems or similar. You have a can do attitude with relentless drive to deliver outcomes for business. You have the ability to adopt the position of subject matter expert for your area.

 

You are someone who has experience in continuing improvement and enhancement of financial systems while coordinating with professionals across domains, levels and divisions, to maintain their finger on the pulse and with a proven ability to escalate whenever needed.

An ability to hit the ground running, quickly build relationships, and understand complex project finance related issues and reporting will therefore be essential. You are able to persevere when faced with obstacles and comfortable addressing contentious issues and are self-driven.

Salary and benefits

The salary for this position is Transport Grade 7 $106,086 - $118,816 per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
