JOB INTRODUCTION:

We have a great opportunity for a partner to work with a complex FM Business, driving financial performance whilst ensuring the integrity of the P&L and balance sheet. This position is home based with travel to UK offices and sites as required.

Key responsibilities include overseeing accurate and timely financial reporting, providing valuable financial insight to business management, assisting with the resolution of financial and commercial issues as well as the continuous improvement of process and controls. The ability to work within a large, complex structure is important.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITY:

• Business partner FM management, providing an§  Business partner FM management, providing analysis and insight into the financial results to help drive informed decision making.
• Manage the accurate, timely and user friendly reporting of all financial information, ensuring both P&L and balance sheet reporting complies with Group accounting policies.
• Develop the monthly forecast process and tracking against outlooks.
• Identify contract and business level risks and opportunities and effectively manage stakeholder expectations throughout.
• Manage the annual budget process, providing detailed analysis for management review.
• Provide advice and support to Business Directors and contract management on various financial / commercial issues and attend client meetings where required.
• Attend bid reviews and review financial models.
• Oversee onerous contract and lifecycle accounting models.
• Review and improve working capital with a strong focus on prompt, accurate billing, accrued income, aged debt and cash collection.
• Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations ensuring robust supporting evidence is maintained.
• Monitor and advise the business on financial practices, ensuring company policies and processes are adhered to. Lead on financial process improvements where needed.
• Liaise with external and internal auditors as required.
• Ad hoc financial projects.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

Essential

• Educated to degree level
• Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA) with 5+ years post qualification experience
• Able to work well on own initiative and prioritise workload
• Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to win the respect and trust of colleagues
• Good attention to detail as well as the ability to see the ‘big picture’
• Although primarily home based, flexibility to travel to other UK offices and sites if required

Desirable 

• Experience of FM and PFI Contracts
• Long term contract accounting experience
