Job overview:

At this challenging role you would have the chance to make the next step in your career by working for an financially well-established freight forwarder. You would manage the finance and financial monthly requirements for UK entities, the employee’s KPI’s and group reporting requirements. It is an analyst role to produce timely & accurate data for the VP Finance - EMEA and wider UK management teams. You would assist with creation and submission of budget & forecast packs. Cash flows forecasts and ensuring accurately stated entity and branch P&Ls is a part of the role as well.

Job Description:

  • Reporting and analysis used by management, operational and finance teams to control costs and analyze performance to include profitability analysis, management presentations and ad hoc analysis 
  • Management and supervision of Finance team of 5 based in London.
  • Working with the Centre of Excellence (CoE) on all outsourced functions. Ensuring efficiencies are achieved and processes streamlined.
  • Ownership of annual budgets with detailed analysis on a product and branch basis.
  • Leading the month end reporting closing process combined with supporting financial processes e.g. quarterly estimate, transactional processes review and variance analysis of actuals budget. Detailed analysis of GL codes and supervision of correct postings.
  • Supporting the preparation, review and upload of month end OneStream reporting packs to group.
  • Business partnering with branches within the company to ensure completeness, accuracy and analysis is delivered.
  • Preparation of the Annual Financial Statements and timely conclusion of audits for all UK entities

Qualifications

  • Over 5+ years’ experience in a similar role for an international company
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant experience
  • Strong Excel skills (vlookups/ pivot tables/ formulae)
  • Strong attention to detail combined with team player skills
  • Freight forwarding / logistics knowledge and work experience would be an asset
  • Experience in using CargoWise and OneStream is desirable but tot essential
