Here at Wickes we are looking to recruit a Finance Business Partner - Commercial to join our team on an interim basis until March 2023. Following our demerger from Travis Perkins back in April, we have embarked on a Finance systems transformation project and are looking for a pro-active, adaptable and engaging individual to join the Finance team and provide the necessary support during this time. 

The main purpose of this role will be to business partner the Commercial team and also provide back-fill support to cover the current operations finance managers as they support the implementation of a new finance system.

Key Accountabilities:

• Business partner to the Commercial Category Director and Category Managers providing financial analysis, support and challenge 

• Ownership of business case support and post investment reviews to ensure that expected benefits are being realised. This includes reporting on performance using different KPIs and financial measures. 

• Ownership of relevant commercial financial controls (e.g. balance sheet reconciliations, relevant commercial costs, supplier revenue / costs) and drive to continually improve them.

• Owning the budgeting & forecasting process of sales and margin for relevant product categories as well as understanding ongoing risks and opportunities, ensuring all stakeholders are appropriately engaged.

• Proactively working with the members of the Commercial team, to help them improve knowledge , increase profitability and understand category performance

What are we looking for:

• Recognised accountancy qualifications (ACA, CIMA,  ACCA or equivalent)

• 3+ years PQE

• Retail / FMCG experience Business partnering at Director level

• Good presentation skills

• Use of sales, margin profitability analysis, and business model assessments

• Ability to challenge , engage and influence internal and external stakeholders

• Strong communication skills

• Building and maintaining relationships with others to include key stakeholders and non-Finance team members

• Organisation / prioritisation

• High attention to detail and data accuracy
