Job Description

As a Finance Business Analyst you will work as an extension of Group Transformation within Finance, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to contribute to the successfully delivery of TalkTalk’s One Plan strategic priorities.

You will be a self-starter, delivering high quality analysis in complex cross functional/multi-platform situations with the minimum of supervision. 

As a Finance Business Analyst you will:

  • Be responsible for shaping change initiatives, defining objectives, scope and detailed requirements on large complex changes.

  • Drive the analysis plan and approach for finance system integration

  • Be responsible for effectively managing stakeholder relationships up to director level. 

  • Be customer focussed, and able to clearly articulate the needs of the business.

  • Collaborate with business, technology and delivery teams to shape and assess feasibility of finance integration.

  • Adopt a customer centric, outcome-based approach to problem and opportunity definitions.

  • Shape the initiatives to assist with detailed problem understanding and potential opportunities.

  • Select, adopt and adapt appropriate business analysis methods, tools and techniques depending on type of change initiative (i.e. waterfall or agile)

  • Work in partnership with business teams to understand and map current state end-to-end customer journeys and business processes.

  • Collaborate with business, technology and delivery teams to analyse and define business change requirements, including non-functional requirements

  • Drive analysis to identify the systems and process impacts arising from agreed business requirements and translate requirements into systems functional/behavioural models (e.g Use Cases, Screen Navigations etc), delivering.

Skills and Expertise

  • Experience of delivering transformation projects within finance functions, either as a consultant or as part of an in-house change-delivery team. This could be finance technology projects (e.g. ERP implementations) or other operating model transformations or finance process-improvement

  • Accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) desired

  • Good understanding of financial and management accounting concepts

  • Good understanding of the role of the Finance function within energy organisations, including all aspects of the finance operating model (people, data, technology)

  • Understanding of the impact of the relationship between finance and other functions (risk, tax, compliance etc.)
