Field Service and Maintenance Engineer required for a well-established engineering company who are truly market leaders in their specialism within the rail industry. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a reputable company who are offering an exciting and varied role due to expansion.
Candidates from a heavy engineering background such as rail and agriculture would suit this role well, and ex-forces candidates are encouraged to apply. You will be apprentice trained (or equivalent) and hold a good understanding of fluid, pneumatic, electrical systems and Diesel Engines are key for this role.
The successful engineer will be responsible for working across the UK on rail mounted plant equipment. This will involve refuelling and replenishing plant and machinery, carrying out routine maintenance, reporting faults and running repairs. Maintaining Health and Safety standards will be a key focus of this role so you will also be expected to run plant checks such as brake continuity tests, pre-departure checks and ensuring all equipment is safe.
Whilst the company will always look to allocate work most local to your location, you can expect to spend anywhere between 40% to 80% of your time working away from home. The work completed by the company does change seasonally so you can expect your hours of work to vary as at certain times of the year the company operate on a 24/7 basis, however additional shift rates of pay will be provided.
