The opportunity 

Right now, we have an exciting opportunity for a Field Infrastructure Team Lead to join our Technology & Operations team based in Strawberry Hills. This role is a 12 month fixed term full time contract.

If successful, you will provide technical leadership to a team of multi discipline infrastructure and communications engineers responsible for the design and operation of Networks, CCTV, Radio and Intelligent Transport Systems

This is a senior role in the team and you would also be leading a number of project officers and project engineers

This role has a degree of flexibility, where Transport encourages hybrid ways of working across home and our offices in 2022.

What you will be involved in,

• Manage a team of technology professionals, providing leadership, oversight and guidance to the team.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders (TfNSW, TMC) and external stakeholders and vendors in relation to designing and delivering video systems, communications networks, radio systems and intelligent transport systems.
• Manage Field Technology pipeline and prepare regular reporting for management to inform key decision making
• Produce monthly activity reports, post incident reports and security compliance reports Role Description Field Infrastructure Team Lead 2
• Oversee operation, patching and second level support of mission critical systems used by TMC including SCATS (Traffic light communications), Electronic Lane Control System (ELCS) and Integrated Radio Telephone System (IRTS).
• In conjunction with major road projects, oversee design and delivery of new fibre optic backbone communications infrastructure.
• Manage the preparation and development of project safety assurance reports, statements and related documentation

About you 

• Tertiary qualifications in relevant field, or demonstrated equivalent professional experience
• Experience with Intelligent Transport System (ITS) and CCTV highly recommended.
• 3-4 years minimum experience delivering large scale technical projects (ITS or CCTV) in a complex and fast paced environment
• Proven leadership experience with a for-team attitude
• Proven interpersonal and communication skills, with excellent stakeholder and vendor management skills
