About this role
You'll be supporting the Facilities & Property Manager in providing reactive and pre planned maintenance services. This will encompass building fabric, grounds maintenance, housekeeping, specific engineering services and on site waste management. In accordance with laid down procedures and safe working practices.
To act as a key customer contact supporting the Facilities & Property Manager. Responsible for ensuring that the planned and reactive maintenance is delivered to the agreed standard across the country. In addition, to engage with LOBs in order to comply with BT Facilities Services waste management policy.
This role will primarily work in the Dublin area but there will be occaisional requirment for travel to other BT locations across Republic of Ireland, any additional hrs will qualify as overtime. You will have a business use van so a full driving licence is required.
You'll have the following responsibilities
Delivery of the physical workplace experience in multiple customer locations
Delivering our service commitments, maintaining high standards of HSA and a secure workplace, control cost, drive service improvement activity and improve customer satisfaction.
Work in line with BT Facilities Services Health & Safety policy, ensuring that safe systems of work are adopted at all times whilst creating a safe working environment for our customers and colleagues alike.
Ensure compliance with all processes and procedures, statutory requirements, engineering standards.
Provide a planned and reactive maintenance service as instructed, ensuring that operational standards, process and procedures are followed.
Building and sustaining effective relationships within the customer organisation, proactively updating customers with regard to status of incomplete planned and reactive tasks.
Report risk, loss or defect to the line manager for corrective actions
Ensure upkeep of all site safety procedures and compliance
Ensure job closures are completed in timely manner.
Ensure Site Activity Log books are completed in a timely and accurate manner, and are maintained in accordance with procedures.
The effective management of consumables, van stock, tools and equipment
You will carry out varied general maintenance tasks including but not limited to: general building fabric maintenance and repairs, handy man works, painting and decorating, domestic plumbing maintenance/repairs, general electrical repairs to required electrical standards, general logistics as required, office moves/ meeting room set-up, basic grounds maintenance duties and housekeeping duties to a high standard. Where any relevant training or certification is required, we'll provide this to ensure you're qulified and meet H&S requirmeents.
Other relevant duties consistent with the general requirements of our technical services delivery as directed by the Facilities Team Lead.
You'll have the following skills & experience
Mechanical, Electrical or Plumbing background (apprentiship qualification or above) with experience in facilities maintenance. Anticipated you would have a basic understanding of these trades - we'll be able to put you through any relevant traing in other trades as long as you have a background in one of the above.
Able to demonstrate competence in the required tasks typically undertaken within building/Estates maintenance.
Have a background in Maintenance, Facilities or Building Services and a willingness and aptitude to learn new skills.
Fully conversant with all relevant HSA requirements and their effective application.
A good standard of verbal and written communication skills.
Appropriate knowledge of Health and Safety and environmental requirements related to delivery of the assigned tasks, including manual handling awareness, legionella awareness, PASMA, IPAF, asbestos awareness, roof working.
Pro-active approach and diligent, with an eye for quality and attention to detail, acting with a sense of urgency to put things right for customers.
The ability to constructively challenge established thinking and implement new practices or approaches for the benefit of customers and BT Facilities Services.
Computer literate.
A full driving licence also essential as you will be provided with a work van.
