Job Description

Job Background/context:

  • The role reports to the Governance lead within Executive and Regulatory Compensation and will work in partnership with other team members as required.
  • The primary focus of the role will be to assist with all matters relating to governance on Remuneration matters.
  • In addition to a primary focus on governance the role will also support on cross-team regulatory projects. These are likely to be focussed on UK legal vehicles but there will also be the opportunity to work on projects impacting other European legal entities and wider EMEA projects.
  • This role will be an ideal opportunity for a compensation analyst with 3+ years of experience who may be looking to make a move into the Executive and Regulatory Compensation space within HR Reward. Prior Financial services compensation experience will be helpful but prior regulatory experience with regards to remuneration matters, whilst helpful, is not required

Job Purpose:

  • Provide subject matter expertise and oversight on Reward Governance and Regulation, ensuring that the appropriate structures, policies and practices are in place across the Region
  • Working closely with the country/cluster, regional and global partners to meet business needs, across both EMEA Countries and across all Citi businesses.
  • Keeping abreast of regional regulatory issues and evaluating Citi’s Remuneration policies, practices and processes against the continuously evolving remuneration regulatory landscape in the UK, across the EU with an understanding of the US regulator’s requirements.
  • Assist Legal Entity, Governance and Reporting leads in providing oversight on Reward Governance and Regulation, and helping to ensure that the appropriate structures, policies and practices are in place across the Region

Key Responsibilities:


EMEA Regulatory Compensation

  • Keeping up to date with UK/EMEA remuneration governance and regulatory issues
  • Support in evaluating Citi’s remuneration policies and practices against a continuously evolving remuneration regulatory landscape in the UK and across EMEA
  • Involvement with complex remuneration/regulatory projects including cross-functional teams.
  • Key contact for CoSec in preparing for Remuneration Committees, preparing papers attending meetings, taking notes/minutes.
  • Assisting with the implementation of the remuneration regulatory requirements and compliance with the UK/EMEA regulators as necessary whilst maintaining Citi’s Global approach to remuneration regulatory issues
  • Support in shaping and application of Citi’s remuneration policy, processes and practices from a UK/EU/EMEA perspective
  • Support in developing Citi’s reward structures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, maintaining Citi’s global Compensation philosophy and remaining competitive.
  • Working closely with the wider reward team and other internal stakeholders i.e. Risk & Compliance, Legal and in particular NY Corporate Compensation Team.
  • Training HR colleagues and key stakeholders on practical implementation of remuneration governance and regulatory requirements from a UK/EMEA/US perspective.
  • Manage audit responsibilities in connection with regulatory remuneration matters and support in liaising with control functions and demonstrating governance and controls

Skills:

  • Advanced MS office skills
  • Advanced HR database skills – look up, queries (historical data)
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal English communication skills
  • Pro-active approach to work-load

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree preferred
  • Legal/Tax background would be preferable but not essential for those with relevant experience
