About the role

If so, we have a great opportunity for you!


We are looking for a Development Apprentice (New Business & Partnership). As our Development Apprentice your principal role is to complete the part time Real Estate BSc Honours degree! Whilst you complete our structured apprenticeship programme you will have the opportunity to gain real on-the-job training which will lead you to gain some valuable work experience and potentially an opportunity to secure a full-time job with us.


This is a degree apprenticeship where you will be studying part time whilst undertaking the apprenticeship.


You will be assigned a mentor during your apprenticeship to assist you throughout your time with us.


You will be working within the Partnerships and New Business teams to develop an understanding of the land and development markets with the aim of becoming a chartered surveyor at the end of your term.


You will support our land managers and senior land managers working on speculative residential and mixed-use projects to include market research to support the assessment of new opportunities.


You will get involved in the bid writing and assist the project management of individual schemes that progress through the bidding and acquisition process. You will attend design team meetings and help to instruct consultant teams and ensure consultants are complying with the scope of appointments. You will attend project meetings and complete key actions delegated by line managers.


You will have a minimum of 96 UCAS tariff points (2017 Tariff) or 230 UCAS tariff points (2016 Tariff) or have an equivalent level of attainment through recognised qualifications and have GCSE Grade C or above in English and Mathematics (Grade 4 for applicants holding newly reformed GCSEs in England)


You will be passionate, enthusiastic and a motivated individual who can demonstrate a track of academic success. Preferably you will have had some work experience within the real estate development sector, if not, then we would like for you to be able to demonstrate a clear passion for and, interest in, land acquisition and property development and a desire for a long-term career in the sector.


You will be able to work collaboratively and be able to work as part of a team to achieve successful outcomes.

You will be given the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of the real estate development sector and develop the skills to take sites from inception, through acquisition and planning.


Finally, you will achieve a degree in surveying accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and paid for by Network Homes. You will also undertake the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence leading to registration with the RICS as a Chartered Surveyor.
