Role: Ethical Trade Manager – Projects and Development
Purpose of role:
Reporting into the Ethical Trade and Environment Sustainability Lead – Technology and Systems, this role will develop, test and oversee the implementation into Primark’s Ethical Trade and Environmental Sustainability Programme for all nominated new areas of Primark Business that are deemed as in scope for the ET / ES monitoring programme, whilst partnering with key stakeholders across ET / ES Team and Primark.

Role Overview:
We want visibility of all our supply chains and understand and record any issues which contravenes our Code of Conduct and opens us up to risk. The current commercial landscape of Primark is expanding and the scope of the current ET / ES monitoring programme needs to adapt and develop in order to be able to sufficiently monitor the increasing diversity of Primark’s supply chains both for GSFS (Goods and Services for Sale) and GSNFS (Goods and Services Not For Sale).
Whilst the Global team compromises of over 130 specialists, central project management is required to oversee the development, test and implementation of ET / ES monitoring of new business areas.
Support the Ethical Trade and Environment Sustainability Lead – Technology and Systems in developing and incorporating monitoring requirements for new areas of the Ethical Trade and Environmental Sustainability Team on a global level to ensure protection of Primark’s ethical reputation and code of conduct through the complete supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:
The Ethical Trade Manager - Projects and Development will be accountable for developing and over-seeing the testing of monitoring requirements for new areas of the Ethical Trade and Environmental Sustainability Team on a global level. This role will also advise and influence thinking regarding monitoring and data for the Environmental Sustainability Team.
Key Interactions and engagement with as part of role:
The Ethical Trade Manager – Projects and Development will work with a diverse and potentially remote team of internal and external resources. They will ensure that all relevant stakeholders are included and informed of any trials and proposed new methodologies. Ensuring that any new approach is fully understood before being rolled out to scale. The Ethical Trade and Environment Sustainability Lead – Technology and Systems will agree and set the priorities for this role, but it is expected that the ETM will be able to manage and lead specific projects from beginning to end.
