Key Responsibilities:

To provide analysis of global financial markets.

To write research reports.

To maintain existing financial databases and models

To create new financial databases and models

To help investors and  Citi colleagues with bespoke analysis and data requests

To work closely with Citi Research colleagues from, around the world

To help originate, research and write analysis of global investment themes

To communicate Citi’s investment advise to external clients and Citi colleagues

Development Value:

The successful candidate will gain from a wide exposure to global investment themes and learn how to interpret the implications of economic and financial change for global equity markets. He/she will learn the written and verbal communication skills necessary to succeed in the competitive world of investment banking.

Person Specification

Knowledge/Experience:

The successful candidate should be an analytical thinker and passionate about the markets. We would expect the person to have had some experience of financial market analysis, perhaps in an investment bank or asset manager. They should be familiar with the interpretation and communication of financial data and model outputs.

Skills:

Good writing and communication skills.

Highly competent in the use of Microsoft Excel.

Previous experience with the R programming language beneficial

Familiar with financial data sources such as Bloomberg, Datastream and Factset.

Qualifications:

The candidate should have a strong academic record in statistics/finance, ideally to a post-graduate level. CFA qualification would also be helpful.

Competencies:

The candidate should take a keen interest in global economic and financial developments. A thorough understanding of financial data sources and analysis is also a necessity, as is the ability to produce accurate work to a tight deadline.
