What's the role about?

John Lewis Magna Park is an industry-leading semi-automated National Distribution Centre.. The site operates 24-7 with engineering presence on-site to provide structured planned preventative/remedial disciplines and reactive response to a complex building services infrastructure, supporting in excess of £150m of materials-handling automation equipment, constantly evolving with continued site development investment.

What you'll be doing:

To provide a professional and orderly electrical testing service to JL Primary Distribution buildings ensuring all portable electrical equipment is safe, undamaged, fit for purpose and fully-functional.

Primary Distribution delivers critical 24-seven E-commerce fulfilment representing c75% of JL’s business, totally dependent upon safe,reliable and well-maintained electrical equipment.

To maintain and produce accurate appliance / asset registers and testing reports to demonstrate 100% compliance with electrical testing standards/legislation, providing comprehensive and accurate record-keeping for internal and external auditing, assets by building, area and department.

To inspect and test electrical equipment to the latest electrical code of practice, with a methodical regime of recording and auditing, ensuring building assets remain safe, compliant, safe and in good condition. Other duties to incorporate the setting-up of inspection and test regimes of other assets, fixed and part of the building services infrastructure.

What you’ll already have:

• Technically-qualified and experienced in electrical equipment testing to a minimum of City & Guilds 2377 Inspection & Testing of Electrical Equipment (or equivalent)

• Working knowledge of PAT testing procedures

• Good level of Windows and general IT knowledge

• Ability to work in a methodical and organized manner

• Ability to work on your own initiative

• An eye for detail and accuracy

• Ability to work as a team member

• Able to communicate effectively at all levels

• Good working knowledge of Health & Safety

• Use of Seaward PAT equipment

• Use of accompanying software suites, with ability to build asset registers and inventory

• Ability to create and manipulate spreadsheets and reporting tools
