Alliance Group has an exciting opportunity as an Environment & Energy Graduate at our Lorneville Plant, situated just outside Invercargill.
Rich in history and known as the City of Water and Light Invercargill is the commercial centre of the Southland region and is renowned for its aurora australis (southern lights), and is family-friendly while catering for many leisure activities.
Invercargill lies in the heart of the wide expanse of the Southland Plains on the Oreti River and is situated amid abundant farmland that is bordered by large areas of conservation land and marine reserves, including Fiordland National Park covering the south-west corner of the South Island and the Catlins coastal region.
The Role
Reporting to the Environmental Manager and with a strong project focus, this graduate role will support the Environmental Team in providing environmental and energy management for Alliance Group by assisting to develop a culture of continual improvement and assisting in implementation and maintenance of the Environmental Management System and Environmental Management Strategy.
Alliance Group has recently made significant capital commitments and large decarbonisation and environmental projects are underway at four of our sites with plenty more to come.
This role will help identify and evaluate future energy and cost saving opportunities, support the implementation of environmental work programmes, energy management plans and projects and monitor utility use and efficiencies at all Alliance Group plants.
This position is offered on a fixed term contract of 24 months.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will preferably be a recently graduated / completed final year qualification in energy management, industrial and process optimisation, or similar technology-based qualification and will display strong initiative and drive.
Your high attention to detail and excellent communication skills combined with theoretical knowledge of the processes / control / operation of energy management will help you succeed in this role.
Some experience in an industrial manufacturing environment and in data analysis and compliance reporting will be advantageous but not essential.
