Our internal facing team is responsible for the planning and design of the overall vision when it comes to PwC products, accelerators and overall enterprise initiatives. We provide strategic and solution architecture direction in all aspects as we build out solutions for our business.

Reporting to the Chief Architect at Products & Technology at PwC Canada, this role will play a leading role in definition, implementation, and execution of the Enterprise Architecture at PwC’s mission to build digital software products that supplement PwC’s services and provide value to our customers. In addition, this role will help define and actively participate in products' architecture review and approvals, ensuring the compliance to EA guidelines, while assisting and advising solution architects in defining products' architecture; This role should have a strong background in Enterprise Architecture frameworks, but also in digital product development, having performed senior technology roles either in large enterprise environments or late stage start-up.

What you’ll create and do

As a Senior Manager, you’ll work as a part of a team of problem solvers, helping solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

Enterprise Architecture (80%)

Developing the Enterprise Architecture

Coordinating all Enterprise Architecture activities 

Developing and coordinating Architectural Plans

Assisting in aligning business and enterprise initiatives with the Enterprise Architecture

Auditing compliance within the Enterprise Architecture standards

Serving as advisor to senior business management on business and information integration strategies

Providing expertise in 1 or 2 architectural domains (business, data, application, technology) or sub-domains

Definition, implementation, and execution of the processes for the definition, maintenance, and compliance management of the Enterprise Architecture

Creating Business, Data, Software and Security architecture models to reflect the organization's strategies and goals and creating and implementing business visions and goals

Establish and maintain key Enterprise Architecture deliverables, templates and artifacts

Help define and actively participate in products' architecture review and approvals, ensuring the compliance to EA guidelines

Assist and advise solution architects in defining products' architecture

Architectural leadership in the resolutions of cross-product and cross-program issues

Determining and implementing build versus buy strategies, and provide approvals for individual products

Relationship Management / Thought Leadership (20%)

Effectively collaborate across the units within Products & Technology team, with Global PwC, as well within LoS in the firm ensuring effective communication and decision-making around Enterprise Architecture

Build and maintain communication framework for effective transfer of information around EA design principles, implementation guidelines, and support

Design and actively drive implementation of P&T's MicroService Architecture, ensuring acceleration of development, component reuse and easier integration with internal and external software applications

Ongoing research and assessment of new software architecture methodologies and approaches for potential use within the firm's Enterprise Architecture framework

Ensure that the product's technical documentation captures significant architectural decisions and document exceptions to architectural standards

What you’ll bring to this role

A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences, developing and coaching diverse teams, and ensuring diverse perspectives are heard

Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering

Azure/Google Cloud Platform or Amazon Web Services certifications (Solutions Architect or Developer) preferred

TOGAF certification (nice to have)

Has worked extensively in large scale software solution implementations with hands-on experience

Strong experience in Enterprise and Cloud technologies

Cloud-ready architectures utilizing infrastructure and platform cloud services for Azure, AWS, GCP 

Service-oriented, event-driven and microservices architectures

Big Data / Analytics / AI tools

DevOps such as CD/CI, virtualization, automation, continuous integration

Mobile/Web architecture stacks

Persistence such as RDBMS/NoSQL data stores and appropriate use cases

Rapid-prototyping workflows and development tools

Containerization, and experience in using Docker and/or Kubernetes

TOGAF experience (nice to have)

Able to effectively lead large technical teams and oversee large implementations in an Agile environment

Be the voice of technology at meetings with senior stakeholders, leadership and client executives

Strong understanding of product strategy

Ability to translate between business and technical stakeholders as required to meet strategic objectives

Exceptional communication skills and ability to lead deep technical discussions with solution architects, and senior stakeholders across PwC global network and internally

Leads discussions with customers at all levels of an organization (up to C Suite) to understand and solve complex business and technology problems, by presenting various solution options and technical concepts in an understandable and comprehensible manner

Join Chief Architect/CTO or represent them at strategic presentations, emerging technology forums with PwC clients

Enterprise technology strategy and solutioning expertise to determine technical paths in defining and designing digital products, considering all areas like integration, extensibility, scalability, performance, security

Strong organizational, leadership and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead solutioning and determining the right high-level design for a product solution

Evaluates solutions to ensure that they are in alignment with PwC's mission, strategy / objectives, capabilities and processes using industry recognized architectural models and roadmaps

Strong decision-making ability required with an impact on overall enterprise, business and product architecture, product roadmaps and determining feasibility of product from a technical standpoint
