As Asda's Enterprise Architect – Cloud and Technology, you will be responsible for our cloud, infrastructure, and client architecture domains. Defining the roadmaps, architecture and patterns to deliver next-generation platform technology to one of the UK's leading retailers. Within this responsibility, you'll lead a group of multi-skilled architects, with a customer-orientated mindset.

Your Role

Take on the challenge of leading the architecture and design of the ASDA's cloud, infrastructure and client landscape, platforms and patterns. 

Your responsibilities will include:

• Creating and managing the enterprise technology strategy for cloud, infrastructure and client across all of Asda's technology landscape.
• Managing a team of solution and cloud architects; providing technology leadership, mentorship and communicating clear direction
• Applying an agile mindset - balancing business strategy with the timelines available, and determining how technologies can best fulfil our customer's needs
• Producing our technology transition roadmaps and patterns, bringing into play several factors such as Industry and Domain best practice, available technologies and business need
• Working closely with senior business and technology leaders within our organisation to shape the vision, and being seen as the go-to point for that technology vision
• Governing all technology platforms used across a broad ASDA landscape
• Supporting the programme teams to deliver the programme outcomes in the timelines required
• Being part of the Technology Extended Leadership Team to drive positive change into the function

About You

• Significant experience operating as an Enterprise or lead Architect in the cloud and infrastructure domains
• Innovative and with a continuous learning mindset; you will be passionate about technology, its business value and driving adoption
• Exposure to large scale cloud transformation programmes, experience with the people, process and technology change required
• Excellent working knowledge of a hyperscaler ecosystem, ideally supported with certification
• A background that includes practical engineering expertise in cloud, client and infrastructure technologies
• Good working knowledge within the development, information security and privacy domains, and application of this within the cloud, infrastructure, and client
• The ability to concisely communicate complex technical concepts to a broad audience, relating them to business value
• Delivery of enterprise cloud and infrastructure architectures from scratch, within complex business, application and data environments
