Job Description

As the UK's largest Retail, Commercial and digital bank and the UK’s only integrated banking and insurance group, we've a big responsibility to support the UK economy and put customers at the heart of everything we do.

Our Transformation programme is putting unprecedented levels of investment into our people and technology platforms and are looking for architectural leaders to help drive this transformation.

About the Enterprise Architecture team

Sitting with Group Transformation, Enterprise Architecture is helping the Group transform itself to meet the new challenges it faces with digitisation, competition and growing customer expectations.

We seek to balance the immediate needs of the business with a broader strategy to build the bank of the future. We help drive a more responsive bank that puts customers first, handles cost and risk, and delivers shareholder value.

Following a clear set of principles which promote a positive and collaborative culture making this a diverse and energising place to work.

Together we'll make it possible...

The Role

The ability to make and receive payments, account to account or using cards, as a standalone activity or as part of wider customer journeys is central to helping our customers and clients whilst keeping them and communities safe from financial crime is core to the Group’s purpose.  We're looking for an influential Lead Architect to join our Payments, Fraud and Financial Crime and ID & Authentication team.

You'd be building relationships and developing trust, providing thought leadership to our business and technology change delivery colleagues, owing the technology strategy for your area of focus and maintaining alignment with the wider Group strategies.

So, what would you be doing?

This is where things get interesting...

  • You'll be working with end-to-end agile project teams to help influence the transformation of our payments, fraud and financial crime and authentication capabilities balancing customer and business outcomes, risk, cost and time.
  • You'll own the strategy and work with colleagues to agree the roadmap and technical approach .
  • You'll collaborate with other members of the Enterprise Architecture team to help shape and deliver the wider strategy – for example, ensuring the realisation of our ambitions to adopt public cloud for these critical services and to maximise the benefits and flexibility of an API and data centric technology platform.
  • You'll own the implementation and adoption of your ideas helping cultivate strong teams to make this happen.
  • Finally, you would present your proposals to diverse groups within the organisation and seek to influence their thinking and gain commitment.

This is an agile environment working on challenging problems requiring dedication and leadership to help drive the transformation agenda. Working collaboratively and cultivating trust to get results.

So, about you...

Essential

  • Experience in one or more of payments, fraud and financial crime prevention and authentication domains would be important which may, of course, be from a non-financial services background
  • Fundamentally, Enterprise Architecture at Lloyds Banking Group is a consulting role, identifying opportunities to make a positive difference and influencing senior leaders and engineers to execute your strategies.  You'll be a confident leader, passionate about architecture and making a difference

Desirable

  • You will be able to view challenges from different perspectives, create and drive strategies and solutions that are not only technically sound, but also include regulatory, commercial and organisational aspects when appropriate
  • You'll be a great communicator happy speaking to engineers and senior leaders alike and not afraid to use a whiteboard to share your ideas
  • You're keen to tackle problems and work collaboratively in teams recognising the complementary strengths of individuals

And your background?

  • You've worked in established organisations with large customer bases so have a good appreciation of the non-functional considerations and crafting systems accordingly
  • We'd expect experience of driving a change agenda and demonstrating strength and good judgement in leadership
  • We've love you to have experience with agile techniques and modern application software architectures

And in return…

You will have both opportunity and profile - we'll provide you with a diverse, energising and lively environment that focuses on equal opportunity and real career progression in a leading digital organisation.

We'll take your personal and professional development very seriously and enable you to make a genuine difference to millions throughout your career with us.

We'll also give you a broad remuneration package which includes:

  • Discretionary bonus: up to 40% of basic salary
  • Generous pension contribution - up to 13% employer contribution
  • A flex cash pot you can adjust to suit your lifestyle – cash sum of 4% of salary
  • Private health cover
  • 30 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Various share schemes including free shares

So if you have a desire to work in a challenging role in a dynamic environment, whilst gaining skills and experience within a friendly and motivated team then get in touch, we'd love to hear from you!

You'll find we're genuine about equal opportunity as well as our people representing the communities we serve. All with a culture built around advancing the best of our people!

We will ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment. Please contact us to request accommodation.

At Lloyds Banking Group, we're driven by a clear purpose; to help Britain recover. Across the Group, our colleagues are focused on making a difference to customers, businesses and communities. With us you'll have a key role to play in shaping the financial services of the future, whilst the scale and reach of our Group means you'll have many opportunities to learn, grow and develop.

We're focused on creating a values-led culture and are committed to building a workforce which reflects the diversity of the customers and communities we serve. Together we’re building a truly inclusive workplace where all of our colleagues have the opportunity to make a real difference.
