About the team:

 

The Infrastructure and Place division is in the process of delivering a once-in-a generation multi-billion dollar program of public infrastructure works which will ease congestion, improve safety, create new places and connect communities for generations to come. We are dedicated and passionate team that is proud of the work we do and the supportive and flexible team culture we have built.

 

The Technical Services Branch provides specialised engineering services for the multi-modal delivery, operations and management of our Transport network, and is the centre of technical expertise driving innovation and best practice. 

 

 

The opportunity: 

 

Due to the unprecedented scale of investment in the Transport for NSW Future Transport strategy we have 2 permanent opportunities for an Engineering Surveyor to be part the Technical Service’s Parkes team.

 

The Engineering Surveyor will provide advice and support to multiple large scale construction projects. Working in conjunction with Internal Transport Cluster teams and external delivery partners.

 

One role will focus on engineering construction survey. The other is a utilities role which will focus on location the position of services such as energy, communications & stormwater

 

The role will be based in Parkes and will service the wider region. There will be varying hours, locations and away work. Staff will have access to TfNSW pool vehicle for work use. The role will provide excellent development opportunities within the wider group.

What you will be involved in:

 

Manage survey projects to agreed time, cost and quality requirements by leading a team to satisfy clients' business and program objectives.

Ensure that all survey requirements of projects are considered and project outcomes are met by liaising with project teams, stakeholders, contractors and professional service providers.

Ensure the integrity of project technical data by auditing both in-house and external products against the scope of works and technical criteria and quality management systems.

Ensure compliance with TfNSW, regulatory and statutory requirements and improve work efficiencies in technical, WHS and environmental matters by adherence to the survey unit's quality management system

About you: 

  You will be a self-starter, an autonomous operator, who proactively takes the initiative to establish effective relationships and solve problems. You will possess strong communication skills and attention to detail, and be able to manage multiple cross-functional priorities with conflicting deadlines. Proficient multitasking, organisational, teamwork and planning skills are key.

 

Key Knowledge and Experience:

 

Experience in the provision of surveying technical advice and management of technical risk in infrastructure projects.

Experience and knowledge of modern technology and software related to surveying practices and procedures.

Experience and knowledge of relevant legislation, management systems, specifications, policies and procedures related to surveying practices and procedures.

Proven ability to manage survey projects in a team based environment.

 

Essential Requirements:

 

Diploma qualification or equivalent in Surveying and demonstrated relevant experience in the provision of surveying technical advice and management of technical risk in infrastructure projects.

Possess a current and valid Australian motor vehicle driver license

 

 

Salary and Benefits

 

USS Grade 5 ($81,208 -$85,343) per annum plus overtime/penalties, superannuation and leave loading.

 

USS Grade 7 ($94,824 -$100,075) per annum plus overtime/penalties, superannuation and leave loading.
