The Team

The Machine Learning Platform team sits within the Data Platforms area. This newly formed team has great scope to transform our infrastructure supporting Machine Learning Engineering, and to increase our ML capabilities. Data contributes in everything we do at Deliveroo, and Machine learning drives our products and positively impacts our customers who use them!

This is a new role, where we are looking for someone to shape and grow our ML platform and the team who work on it! You'll work with Machine Learning Engineering, Data Scientists and Platform Engineers on a daily basis, we're a humble, high collaboration bunch, looking for you to build ML Platforms with us.

You will spend time:

• Contribute to Machine Learning and Data Platform strategy, set project goals and continue to support and mentor your team
• Grow a diverse, accomplished group of platform engineers, gaining fantastic exposure to scaling a tech team at a unique pace
• Create a learning environment for your team and act as a mentor for engineers and up and coming leaders
• Become instrumental in improving and implementing processes and values that scale
• Provide technical mentorship to engineers building and deploying large-scale projects internationally
• Work with teams including Machine learning engineering, data science, Data platforms and operations

Requirements:

• You have been a Machine Learning Engineer, ML Platforms specialist, working with ML Ops, infrastructure and distributed systems or Software Engineering Manager Manager building scalable and impactful ML Platforms at pace
• You want to build teams to enable ML rather than do ML yourself
• Your style is collaborative, to encourage your team to optimise their code
• You set goals and offer advice, setting your team up for success
• You're a natural recruiter, passionate about building your team
