Minimum qualifications:

• Experience in technical leadership, including leading project teams and setting technical direction.
• Experience in software engineering or related technical field.
• People management experience, with experience managing teams.

Preferred qualifications:

• Android or other mobile development experience.
• Engineering productivity experience (e.g. infrastructure, testing).

Android Engineering Productivity's (EngProd’s) role is to take the Google's operating system to new heights of efficiency, velocity, and effectiveness. We build the tools and infrastructure needed to ensure that Android gets from our engineers to consumers quickly, painlessly, and free of bugs. We own the systems that enable the daily creation of builds, execution of tests, and productivity of every Android platform developer in Google and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Be a technical lead for multiple work-streams. Take ownership of work areas, helping to set both technical strategy and product direction.
• Develop the staff reporting to you; take responsibility for their growth, performance, and career aspirations.
• Represent your projects to the wider organization. Create strong relationships with our partners, as well as Android teams in London.
• Navigate the ambiguity inherent in Android and Engineering Productivity. Dig through surface phenomenon to really fix the root causes of challenges.
