The Opportunity


We have an opportunity for you to join our team and contribute to one of the most exciting and challenging construction projects in the country, as we lead the rebirth of Nuclear in the UK. We are embarking on the safe construction of two EPR’s at HPC in Somerset, join us on this journey.

 

We are currently looking for Engineering Integration Manager, who will work for Plant Integration team within Hinkley Point C (HPC) Engineering Directorate, to ensure that the HPC Design is delivered to quality, cost and schedule, and is consistent with physical asset, affordable and a safe design fit for procurement, construction, commissioning and operation.

 

As an Engineering Integration Manager, you will be responsible for definition, implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of the HPC project’s Technical Integration processes in particular the design and physical configuration control procedures guaranteeing completeness and consistency of HPC plant under construction. These processes are interfaced with the Design Teams, the Technical Client Organisation, and the Delivery Programmes (including Site Entities). 
 

The Person

 

As an Engineering Integration Manager, your principal accountabilities will include:

 

•    Plant configuration strategy and support:


o    Configuration processes ownership (design changes, referential changes, referential exemption requests, design interfaces, contract transfer sheets).
o    In coordination with the Design Teams, the Technical Client Organisation, and the Delivery Programmes, ensures configuration processes are fit for purpose, implemented, communicated to users, and properly understood and applied.
o    Supports Plant Integration management team to define and implement the configuration strategy after delivery of Design Consistent State 2.
o    In collaboration with the Configuration manager, develop and implement Configuration Management Plan that set out the configuration management activities that the project is planning to conduct, in a given time period, and who is responsible for delivering the planned activities.

 

•    Transition in datacentric mode with new Plant Life Management tool:


o    Contributes to development and implementation of Switch PLM, as a business champion and point of contact for all questions related to technical integration processes.
o    Proposes, assesses, and validates improvement of ways of working and interactions between users, and helps fixing any identified gap between processes and tool functionalities.

 

•    Technical Integration Assessment activities:


o    Lead for Nuclear Site Licence condition 16 (Site plans, designs and specifications) compliance
 

The Skills

 

Essential Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience

 

•    Degree in a relevant science or engineering subject
•    Experience within the UK Nuclear industry or similar high hazard industry
•    Advanced knowledge of configuration management principles and processes
•    Knowledge of UK Context for Nuclear industry
•    Knowledge of project management principles and processes
•    Good management and organisational skills
•    Good communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders both in France and the UK
•    Good ability to work autonomously
•    Willing to travel regularly between the various project Command Centres and engineering entities


Desirable Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience


•    Knowledge of EPR power station design
•    Experience of working in an international, multi-cultural environment
•    Working level French would be an advantage
