EPYC End to End Power Management Lead

The Role:

Server platform E2E power management lead to drive cross functional team on tasks from PM feature definition to post silicon validation/optimization to meet next generation server product power/performance target. This role requires broad spectrum of technical experience including silicon, platform hardware, firmware and hands on validation experience to deliver sophisticated products.

The Person:

As a deeply experienced technical lead with breadth across system and/or chip development, you work across swim lanes and guide system-level server technical execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize the latest technological and scientific methods to develop and fully optimize EPYC SoC products and platforms from power management perspective.
• Analyze customer power/performance requirement and foresee power management challenges for next generation EPYC product. Identify power management techniques and features to enable performance.
• Drive power management feature definition with silicon design, power architecture, firmware and platform teams to optimize power/performance. Close definition with clear ROI.
• Key stakeholder for pre-silicon power/perf projection
• Drive power management feature validation and optimization test plan in pre-silicon phase.
• Drive post silicon power management feature tuning to optimize power and performance
• Drive post silicon power charz and correlation
• Drive optimization and finalize fuse recipe with manufacture team to lock product definition
• Drive post-silicon/customer debug efforts to identify root cause of power and performance related issues.

Preferred Experience:

• Deep expertise in power and performance analysis and tuning up and down the stack from OS level through firmware to silicon microarchitecture.
• Comfortable working knowledge of system architecture design including I/O, CPU performance, hardware management, firmware, boot process, power management, thermal, and power delivery
• Exposure to high volume silicon manufacturing knowledge including binning and VF curve
• Experience in leading other domain specialists in driving solutions and architecting system features
• Experience in Power/Performance and Post-Silicon validation
• Excellent communication capability

Academic Credentials:

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with 7+ years of experience or Ph.D with 5+ years of experience
