Barnardo's Works Tayside, part of Barnardo's ETS (Employment, Training & Skills) delivers a range of Employability Programmes to support young people into work, and we are looking for a Sessional Employer Liaison Officer to work up to 20 hours per week to support our Employer Engagement Strategy.  We are looking for somebody from either an employability or a business/sales/recruitment background who will have the confidence to pick up the phone to local employers across P&K and Dundee to negotiate work experience and employment opportunities for young people.  You will work alongside the Project Workers to understand the needs and aspirations of the young people, and you will also work closely with the young people themselves to support them to enhance their employability skills.  This will include running sessions about exploring their career aspirations, creating a CV, job search, applying for jobs and preparing for interviews.

Your contact with the employers will include telephone, email and face-to-face contact.  You must have a knowledge of health and safety as part of this role will be to conduct a due diligence health and safety check on work placement premises prior to matching young people to their work placements.  You will have knowledge of the local area and you must be willing to travel to meet with employers across P&K and Dundee (whilst complying with covid-19 regulations).

Whilst your main base will be the Perth Office, you can also work some of your hours from home, and you will be supplied with a laptop and mobile phone.

• Ability & willingness to undertake independent regular travel – access to a car is essential.  (Where appropriate, reasonable adjustments will be considered for candidates covered by the Equality Act who are unable to obtain a driving licence or drive).
