Principle Accountability:
• Hardware diagnosis and rectification of electrical, electronic and mechanical issues on electrical/electronic test rig systems, environmental test chambers and electronic component manufacturing equipment.
• Test rig planned maintenance and improvement activities.
• Introduce new techniques and procedures to minimise test rig downtime and test times.
• Understand and rectify measurement uncertainty.
• Implement long term corrections to reduce downtime.
• Project implementation of test rig moves, improvements, and new installation projects.
• Support of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) programmes.
• Working with external contractors.
• Using Maintenance Management system to store valuable diagnostic information for future issues.
• Ensure the application of the appropriate techniques, such that at all levels opportunities for continuous improvement and waste elimination are identified and acted on.
Basic Qualifications Personal Characteristics
• HNC Electronics or equivalent/formal apprenticeship or relevant maintenance experience would be preferable.
• Working knowledge of DOS and Windows would be beneficial.
• Knowledge of electrical/mechanical components and installation.
• Good communication and IT skills.
• Ability to work on own (and part of team) to identify and drive departmental improvements.
• Enthusiastic to become multi-skilled.
• Committed to continuous improvement.
• A team player, capable of making an impact.
• An ambitious self starter.
• Open to learn new skills and further training
