About the role

This role will see the successful applicant work collaboratively with other trades to ensure a cooperative team environment that manages the resources and work orders required to maintain the functioning of the Belmont Hospital site. The role is supported by the Engineering Manager, seven team members from varying trade backgrounds and administration. The successful applicant will have regular access to training opportunities and a thorough orientation will be provided to ensure the applicant is job ready.

Where you'll be working

Belmont hospital is situated in beautiful Lake Macquarie, minutes from the lake, close to shops, restaurants and more. The maintenance and engineering team is a close knit group of professionals who work alongside one another to support the day to day running of the hospital. This dynamic team is lead by an engineering manager and supported by 7 other team members. This position is whole of hospital position with a home base in the engineering department.

What you'll be doing

We are seeking a motivated trade professional with excellent technical skills, great communication, and a ‘can do it’ attitude. You will have the ability to prioritise and complete work requests and liaise effectively with department managers and staff.

An eligibility list will be created for future temporary full or part time vacancies.

To be eligible for employment in these roles you must be: an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or a citizen of another country with an appropriate visa that allows you to work in Australia.

If you currently hold a temporary visa that allows you to live and work in Australia you may only be offered employment in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. Please provide proof of booster vaccination if available.
