Job Description
MaxSys is currently seeking an Electrical Technician for one of our clients in Ottawa. This role is full time and permanent.
The ideal candidate will have 2 years of previous experience troubleshooting and performing electrical repairs with general knowledge or working with different voltages. Ideally, this person is also capable of performing a variety of operations to maintain Aircraft Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
General Responsibilities:
- Inspect equipment to determine the requirements for repair (time and materials)
- Troubleshoot, maintain, repair and test AC/DC generators, both 60 and 400 Hertz
- Troubleshoot basic AC and DC components, such as transformers, SCR's and IGBT's
- Remove and install generators and engines
- Assemble and disassemble equipment and component parts, using hand tools and power tools
- Troubleshoot and trace wiring harnesses
- Effectively communicate results of inspection, evaluation and testing
- Test performance of electromechanical assemblies, using test instruments such as
oscilloscopes, electronic voltmeters, high pot testers, and bridges - Repair or replace defective or worn parts and components
- Test and adjust repaired equipment for proper functioning
- Read electrical and technical drawings (single line, schematics, diagrams)
- Work as part of a team and individually
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with company procedures and
policies.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma, completion of applicable trade school, or an equivalent related
experience - Basic computer skills
- Must have good written and oral communication, fluent in English
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail '
- Must be able to show initiative and be a self-starter
Things to Note:
- Reports to the Field Service Manager
- Hours of Operations are 8 AM - 430 PM, Monday - Friday
- Full Time and Permanent
