ROLE RESPONSIBILITY:

Electrical Engineer 

 

We have an opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join our team as part of our Tower Hamlets Schools portfolio. The portfolio is made up of 25 schools all located within the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.

This role and contract sit within our Facilities Management sector of G4S where we aim to improve the lives of people across the UK and Ireland by creating productive, safe and smooth working environments.

This is a full-time role based at Tower Hamlets Schools, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 08:00 - 18:00.

 

Job Outline:

The Purpose of this job role is to work with the Hard Service’s team to ensure that the Facilities Management service agreement undertaken by G4S for their Client (Tower Hamlet Schools) is of the standards required and expected as outlined within the contract terms. To assist the Team in providing a high level of expertise within the contract at Tower hamlets Schools., Adherence to company policy and procedures and Health & Safety requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities will include:

To assist in the delivery of the maintenance service in line with the contracted agreement and to ensure the delivery of service is undertaken within the allocated timescales and budgetary targets, working with the hard services manager

To work with the Hard Services Manager to ensure that the day to day operation meet’s the contract SLA’s and KPI’s and the periodic auditing of all documentation completed.

To work closely with the Hard Service Manager, to ensure smooth operation of the delivery of the service.

To assist in the monitoring of the WIP (Work In Progress) to ensure job closure, through Concept.

To ensure all M&E Statutory Compliance records are kept and are ready for inspection when requested through periodic auditing

To complete and submit all required data as request by the Hard Services Manager

Assist in the smooth running of the day to day maintenance delivery to site’s allocated.

To maintain a high level of site Health and safety throughout the companies /Clients work place.

To assist in the accident and near miss reporting through Integrator.

To assist in the monitoring of all visitors / contractors whilst under the management of G4S.

Monitoring of site documentation, maintenance records, and logs ensuring all scheduled Plan Preventative

Maintenance is carried out as scheduled

Advising SSMT’s on monthly report covering Statutory requirements and activities within the period to the

To review all maintenance breakdowns and assist/advise in the obtaining of quotations to rectify / repair works when requested.

Have an awareness of all reactive jobs that are logged through the Help Desk are completed and signed of within the allocated time

Carry out audits of facilities as required by the Service Level Agreement and Management

Ensure the safe custody of keys, fobs and access cards as entrusted.

Carry plant room and work area audits

Undertake any duty as requested by the Hard Services Manager

Work proactively with the Hard Services Manager in the reduction of current maintenance work that is sub contracted, to evaluate where savings can be made, through works being carried out in house making recommendations and putting into place as agreed.

Working with the Hard Services Manager in the management of Projects in particular within recess periods

Support the in house training program for the SSMT’s and day to day on job training and coaching

 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

Essential Criteria:

 

NVQ 3 or equivalent within the building/maintenance industry

Have 18 th edition wiring regs

Have 5 years experience within the building/maintenance industry

Good problem solving skills

Proactive approach

Ability to communicate with people at all levels

Calm disposition

Good working knowledge of maintenance activities

Knowledge of the requirements to meet statutory requirements.

IT literate with the ability to use

Chrome, Google and email

Understanding the planned preventative maintenance methods

 

Desirable:

 

Experience within PFI school contracts
