We have a fantastic opportunity for a Head of Online Trading to join our expanding Online team within our Head Office in Deeside, near Chester.

Purpose of the role:

This is a senior role within the business where you will lead the Online Trading agenda for Iceland, continually optimising and evolving our proposition to drive online transactions and customer lifetime value.

We’re looking for someone that is comfortable providing direction whilst not being afraid to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in with the freedom to make decisions quickly.

Key Accountabilities:

• Manage & develop the Online Trading and Merchandising teams, owning all aspects of the Online Trading plan whilst enabling a culture of an agile and fast paced trading environment.
• Working with all Customer and Marketing teams to plan, prioritise and advertise relevant customer promotions whilst continually striving for an improved customer proposition
• Working with our Insights team to keep the business up to date with Online performance and any emerging trends
• Working with Development teams to optimise the Iceland website and providing the optimal customer journey
• Ability to influence at all levels of the business and be seen as leader
• Manage Online digital and promotional budgets

Skills required:

• Ideally 5+ years’ experience in an Online Trading environment
• A proven track record of managing and developing a team within a fast-paced retail business
• A strong understanding of the online customer and their behaviours and how to leverage these to maximise conversions
• You’ll be commercially minded, practical and demonstrate good judgement; you’ll have great examples of when you’ve identified & acted on opportunities for growth and profitability
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to establish logical solutions
• An understanding of digital marketing channels and how they tie into online trading strategy
• Proven ability to manage large budgets effectively
• Excellent interpersonal skills, you are able to communicate and present information and ideas and effectively influence to ensure you have impact
• Proficiency in Excel and Web Analytics
