About the role

Here's an exciting opportunity in Cromwell as an Early Learning Centre Manager. This is a chance for you to bring your outstanding leadership qualities and ECE operational management skills to take our dynamic and passionate teaching team to the next level, while continuing to grow an incredible environment for the tamariki.

About the Centre

Barnardos Cromwell Early Learning Centre is licensed for up to 44 tamariki, including up to 12 under 2 years of age. The Manager leads a team of fully qualified Teachers and Educators helping tamariki to explore, learn and discover.

The purpose-built centre is located in a unique setting that reflects the natural environment, is open plan design and is light and airy with plenty of space for tamariki.

We love the spacious outdoor area, getting together to share kai and the enthusiastic teaching team have a great environment to teach in.

As a leader you will be required to :

  • Provide leadership to create and maintain a fantastic learning environment, embracing the wonder of every child
  • Provide inspirational opportunities for tamariki, staff and whānau to be kaitiaki of their Centre
  • Connect and share the Centre with whānau and the wider community
  • Manage all Centre operations, including compliance
  • Lead a highly skilled team, including recruiting / induction of new staff
  • Create opportunities to maximise financial and occupancy targets

Skills and experience

Our preferred candidate will have a :

  • strong background in Centre management / leadership
  • thorough knowledge of the Early Childhood Education Regulations
  • ECE qualified (Bachelor or Diploma of Teaching)
  • fully certificated teacher
  • skill in building strong relationships with whānau and attracting new families
  • strong experience in motivating teaching teams to excel
  • clear approach and expectations in planning for children within the framework of Te Whāriki

As this position is covered under the Public Health Response (Vaccinations) Order 2021, a condition of employment is that staff are fully vaccinated by 1 January 2022.
