ABOUT THE ROLE

Applications are now being sought for the position of Documentation Officer within the Gate Operations team from individuals who have the experience and skills necessary for this challenging role. 

Reporting to the Manager Gate Operations, you will be part of a busy and friendly team ensuring that our transport, shipping lines and internal customers receive helpful and efficient service.

Gate Operations is an integral part of the Ports’ operations and its main function is to process receival and delivery of cargo with minimal delay.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The main areas for which you will be responsible are:

  • Cargo Processing â€“ providing efficient and effective services to customer cargo receival and delivery.
  • Customer Relationships â€“ developing and maintaining effective relationships with key customers.
  • Gate Operations - processing containers arriving and departing to/from the port on, train or vessel.  Managing import/export documentation and usage of internal systems to assist with outbound cargo reports, monitor vessel and rail scheduling systems ensuring containers meet connections, inspections and placements.

 

WHAT YOU NEED

Along with your strong attention to detail and confidence working alone, you will need to have solid administration and customer service experience preferably from the Transportation and Logistics industry. 

This role works on a rotating roster shift across 7 days.  You will need to be available for various shift times which cover from 0600hrs to 2300hrs.
