We are looking for two people who can take us to an even higher level of performance - come join us as a Director - Strategy, Policy and Design.
We want to build on our reputation for providing high-quality policy advice. We want you to mentor others, assess opportunities and build capability.
This will be a mix of hands-on work with you doing-the-doing' with others and working-on the business.
You will be able to look to the horizon, make sense of environmental changes and disruptions, develop a bigger picture and help create a pathway forward.
Emphasising our value of Stronger Together', you will work across various customers, stakeholders and partners.
Both Directors will be key members of our Strategy, Policy and Design leadership team. You will be an influencer and trusted advisor, source of insight, savvy, and critical thinking for Toitū Te Whenua.

Capability portfolio - You will drive the thinking and delivery of key pieces of work, shaped by our priorities and decision making.
You will have an extensive background in leading the development of sound, well thought out policy and you'll work collaboratively across both central and local government and across the organisation on significant policy reforms.
You will bring expertise in the machinery of Government and designing and implementing policy operationally.
You will think strategically and be great at leading work on our longer-term vision and how we will achieve our goals. We'll look to you to take the lead on complex projects, ensuring strategic oversight, and applying an organisation and system wide view.
You also play an important role in building the capability and knowledge of our people through your leadership, coaching and mentoring.
This role is part of a group leadership team, and you will work collectively with senior leaders to drive strong performance and the achievement of our outcomes, both as a group and as a business.
Ideally, you'll come to us from a similar role that has given you extensive experience developing policy and continually building your leadership experience across diverse and fast-paced teams.
Using the intellect, sharp analysis, and proactive leadership strategies you are known for, you'll easily build strong relationships and a high level of credibility within the Strategy, Policy and Design leadership team, as well as our wider group.
You'll have the opportunity to make a broader, organisation wide impact in your role. Our team has a strong commitment to developing our internal talent and ensuring that our people get great exposure to interesting and essential work.
