Director, Strategic Client Platforms
THE ROLE:
The Director, Strategic Client Platforms (Storage, Memory and Battery Tech) is a high visibility leadership role and a key trusted advisor to client business leadership of AMD. The individual will have the opportunity to utilize your experience and expertise to identify AMD’s business and technology opportunities and drive them into action.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary objectives of this role will be:
Lead strategic ecosystem initiatives in storage (SSDs) and battery tech
Collaborate with AMD memory leadership to drive strategic ecosystem initiatives
Own the planning through the phases of technology pathfinding through tech readiness through POR and on a solid path to execution
Support general manager in developing strategic vision with short- and long-term tactics that enable long term revenue growth
Collect and analyze relevant market intelligence from multiple sources
Market research and interaction with key customers to understand market trends
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
10yrs of high-tech product management, strategic planning experience
Strong understanding of the PC market – components, ecosystem players, devices
Deep familiarity with client platforms and at least one or more of the following areas: storage/SSD, battery tech, memory
Experience with working on several simultaneous projects and taking them from definition to delivery and adoption
Effective program management skills to collaborate with and lead very large groups of stakeholders across a diverse range of projects
THE PERSON:

Have a strong executive-level presence
Be a hands-on leader
Be a big picture thinker, who can roll up sleeves and dive into details
Balance the need to be collaborative and team oriented with the ability to influence and push back when challenged
Be clear, concise, and effective communicator who is able to discuss complicated topics and issues in a straightforward and concise manner
Have a passion for innovation, be comfortable defining a way forward in the face of ambiguity, and have the ability to scale and influence broadly
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
BS and/or MS degree in Electrical or computer Engineering
Master’s degree in Business from a top tier university is a plus
