Director, People and Capability

The Controller and Auditor-General employs about 500 people in a wide variety of professional roles throughout New Zealand. Our two business units, the Office of the Auditor-General and Audit New Zealand, together help to ensure that our public sector is operating for the benefit of all New Zealanders.

As Director, People and Capability, you'll lead the overall people strategy, capability, and health and safety functions across the organisation. You'll be an authentic, contemporary, and empathetic leader who can build a team to ensure excellence in delivery of employment relations and HR operational advisory services. You'll act as an enabler and influencer to embed an organisational culture focused on learning, recruitment, and career pathway development.

You'll bring to this role:

• demonstrated experience in a human resource leadership role;
• experience in developing and implementing successful human resources and organisational development strategies, policies, and practices;
• an excellent understanding of employment-related legislation; and
• a relevant tertiary qualification.
