About the team
The Infrastructure and Place division is in the process of delivering an ambitious and once-in-a generation multi-billion program of public infrastructure works which will ease congestion, improve safety, create new places and connect communities for generations to come. The Infrastructure and Project Finance (IPF) team is an internal centre of excellence providing high value leadership and advice on funding, financing and strategic matters across Infrastructure and Place’s portfolio, including public–private partnership (PPP) transactions, unsolicited proposals, privatisations and other projects involving private capital. The IPF executes the Infrastructure and Place vision by leading, driving and advising on innovative high-profile high-risk infrastructure and precinct projects.
The opportunity
Reporting to the Executive Director IPF and as part of the executive team, you will lead a high caliber financial and commercial structuring team whose primary purpose is to develop, support and implement the vision for IPF, IP Development and the IP Division more broadly.
This is a significant role in assisting TfNSW and internal clients to drive Infrastructure and Project Finance innovative solutions. As the Director, Project Finance and in partnership with executive and other senior stakeholders, you will ensure that IPF adopts an effective and consistent approach to achieving commercial outcomes for high value, complex programs across the cluster.
You will work and collaborate with other governmental agencies including NSW Treasury and Department of Premier and Cabinet, advisers, investors and commercial counterparties.

About you
We are looking for natural leaders to join our high performing team to drive various fit for purpose, innovative initiatives. As this role is both externally and internally facing, you will have experience in developing strong relationships at a senior level to drive commercial thinking and provide enhanced capability. Well-grounded knowledge of market developments in PPP and other contract forms appropriate for complex programs, skilled in identifying and sharing best practice will be required.
You are a strong collaborator, adaptable, pro-active and not afraid of getting involved to produce the required outcomes. You will be tertiary qualified perhaps with a combined law degree, with previous coverage across economics, finance and commerce. You will have relevant leadership and project finance experience. Though not essential, you might also have a background in property finance, property development, or real estate advisory.
Salary and Benefits
This is a Transport Senior Service role (TSSE1B) offering an attractive remuneration package to be negotiated with the successful candidate.
