About the job
As the Director, Global Network Acquisition team, you will be responsible for setting the strategy, planning and acquiring Google’s network infrastructure across Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) resulting in reliable, scalable, and cost-effective connectivity.
In this role, you will help enhance connectivity by building a team of thought leaders and working with industry partners to create and execute on strategic infrastructure development initiatives. You will directly impact business and operations of all Google first-party services and the Google Cloud Platform by planning and acquiring the infrastructure necessary to scale Google's network presence in EMEA.
In this role, you will also build close partnerships with Policy, Legal, Regulatory, Tax, Finance, and Engineering teams and externally with the networking industry to ensure needs of Google services are met.
Responsibilities
- Create the long term vision and execute on a strategic roadmap to ensure network infrastructure in EMEA remains strong for Google.
- Collaborate with internal business and networking technical teams to identify and define strategic initiatives to meet Google's needs, partnering closely with Google's Legal, Treasury, Policy, and Tax teams.
- Build strategic relationships with vendors, identify compelling opportunities for partnership or expansion with teams, and determine specific solutions that meet commercial, technical, and timing requirements.
- Lead the team responsible to identify and manage agreements with vendors providing wavelength, IP transit fiber, and colocation services. Lead partnerships in tandem with Google's Legal, Treasury, Policy, and Tax teams.
- Articulate and advocate Google's infrastructure position in the region to internal and external stakeholders.
