POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director, Funding Policy and Accountability supports the branch to deliver activities that are critical to the department's commissioning responsibilities. This role will design, manage and oversee the development of contemporary funding policy that underpins the sound financial management of Victorian health services, including public hospitals, community health providers and public sector residential aged care services. This includes the design and implementation of funding policy reforms, undertaking funding policy reviews and reviewing/developing accountability and performance frameworks to support key divisional and departmental priorities.

Reporting to the Executive Director, Funding Policy, Accountability and Data Insights, this role will also work closely with key stakeholders internal and external to government including Commonwealth Government and relevant agencies, the position provides critical funding policy leadership, oversight and advice to drive more integrated approaches across health care settings.

The department is committed to providing and maintaining a working environment which is safe and without risk to the health of its workers and clients. As it is an essential element of any role within the department that employees be able to attend work onsite and to do so safely, employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of their employment.
