About Barwon Health

Barwon health is the major regional health provider for the Barwon South West region. It is one of Victoria’s largest regional health service with one of the busiest hospitals in the state, University Hospital. We serve over 500,000 people through the efforts of over 8,000 staff. We provide care at all stages or life and circumstance through a wide range of services from emergency and acute to mental health, primary care, community services, aged care, and subacute/rehabilitation. About the role

This position will lead multidisciplinary teams of Environmental and Food Services across all of Barwon Health. Responsible for the successful leadership of operational activities pertaining to Food Services, Linen Provision, Domestic and Environment Services. Imperative in achieving these goals is the provision of high level strategic advice to executive to respond to current and future needs of the organisation.

The position is responsible for the performance of Barwon Health’s Environmental and Food Service teams inclusive of the following activities:

• Responsible for development of strategic programs to manage and improve the cleaning, catering and linen services across all sites.
• Strategic Planning for, and the development of, continued renewals of service contracts in accordance with business objectives and timelines.
• Support the establishment of systems, policies and practices to support the execution and integration of service delivery activities across the organisation to improve business efficiency
• Identify, assess and respond to issues affecting service performance, implementing creative and effective solutions to ensure continuous improvements, business continuity and improved service delivery.
• Responsible for the effective management of the interface between Environmental and Food Services and the Barwon Health Executive team
• Responsible for the development and ongoing management of the annual business plans for Environmental and Food services.
• Ensure the services department delivers responsive, flexible, cost effective services that are reflective of the organisation’s values, mission and strategic plan.
• The efficient and effective day-to-day management of the department’s deliverables in accordance with the organisation’s policies, procedures and budgets.
• Develop a culture of teamwork, respect, trust and co-operation, where staff are supported and can develop though effective leadership, education and training.
• Contribute to business and strategic organisational planning by setting key priorities and targets for Corporate Support and Infrastructure.
