Director, Cloud Platform Solution Architect

THE ROLE:

The Director Cloud Platform Solutions Architect clarifies AMD value adds to cloud customers through in-depth performance data collection, architectural characterization, analysis, and directing optimization work.

The ideal candidates will have broad and deep system technology backgrounds, experience developing, influencing, and collaborating on strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide multilayered technical expertise by translating business/customer requirements into platform architecture principles
• Provide guidance to strategic biz dev, sales teams and sales enabling on the most strategic opportunities for AMD products by synthesizing in-depth analysis of current and next generation product performance data for Hyperscaler workloads/benchmarks
• Research, analyze, specify and document overall system architecture impacts of AMDs product portfolio, analyzing performance findings to guide benchmarking teams and customers on optimization opportunities in software and hardware.
• Communicate and explain platform architecture and partitioning tradeoffs to customer through their use cases and workloads related to performance, scalability, manageability, reliability, and security requirements
• Suggest optimal hardware, software and third-party solutions across a range of customer performance and scalability needs.
• Synthesize software and workload feedback related to product technology and platform tradeoffs as input to product management and the AMD architecture community at large.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• BS/MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
