At AMD, we push the boundaries of what is possible.  We believe in changing the world for the better by driving innovation in high-performance computing, graphics, and visualization technologies – building blocks for gaming, immersive platforms, and the data center.

Developing great technology takes more than talent: it takes amazing people who understand collaboration, respect, and who will go the “extra mile” to achieve unthinkable results.  It takes people who have the passion and desire to disrupt the status quo, push boundaries, deliver innovation, and change the world.   If you have this type of passion, we invite you to take a look at the opportunities available to come join our team.

THE ROLE:

The Director, Business and Market Development, Data Center GPU will play a key role within the Data Center GPU Business Unit. The role is customer-facing and will focus on AMD’s strategic data center GPU partners who are deploying large-scale machine learning solutions around AMD silicon. This individual will be responsible for winning data center GPU designs around AMD current and next generation GPUs, understanding the support requirements and opportunities for custom-oriented solutions, and driving to ensure successful revenue capture. In addition, the Director of Business Development will lead the broader mega-datacenter business development team worldwide, ensuring that we approach each partner with strategic focus and with learnings across the broader customer base.

THE PERSON:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead a small team of business development managers to cover large strategic accounts for the Data Center GPU business development team
  • Quarterback a core team of cross-functional members involved in engaging and supporting the customer, driving to design wins and revenue capture
  • Alongside Sales, be a primary contact point in customer engagements, evangelizing AMD data center GPU technologies/products and capabilities
  • Drive and manage all pre-design win efforts and deliverables, including complex/enterprise-class engineering engagement which include scoping of any customer-specific customizations and support requirements
  • Contribute to the setting of account strategy, the resulting tactical milestones, and leading the team to achieve them.
  • Support sales strategy planning and customer engagements on sell-through plans and “special deals” toward revenue recognition
  • Understand the customer’s business goals and requirements; foster relationships and manage customer expectations to ensure needs are aligned with AMD business goals
  • Be a strong advocate for the customer internally
  • Understand customer h/w and s/w requirements, configurations, applications and architect solutions accordingly
  • Maintain awareness of, and provide reports on, customer status and key issues
  • Drive for highest levels of customer engagement and satisfaction

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong experience in the computing industry, at the OEM, ODM, or technology provider level
  • Substantial experience in a customer-facing role. Experience with cloud service providers or mega-datacenter customers is a plus.
  • Knowledge of GPU-accelerated workloads and modern server platform architecture
  • Outstanding written, oral communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple simultaneous projects
  • Highly results driven
