We are Australia’s largest member-based charity for people living with or at risk of diabetes. We have been supporting people with diabetes, their families, carers and friends, for 80 years.
The Opportunity
We have a rare opportunity for a Direct Marketing & Regular Giving Manager to join our fundraising team. This role will be responsible for managing programs to acquire and retain cash and regular giving donors, as well as community fundraising and overseeing a small team.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Acquire and retain donors using multi-channel data-driven direct marketing activities – especially via mail, telephone and digital.
- Plan and deliver warm appeals.
- Contribute to and manage implementation of the regular giving strategy.
- Develop and document processes to support excellent donor care.
- Create inspiring donor communications.
- Extract data from the CRM to analyse, evaluate and report on campaigns and activities with a view to improving key metrics such as average gift, conversion rate, return on investment and attrition.
- Monitor and report on income and expenditure.
- Work with the CRM to understand donors, their key drivers, optimal touch-point times to drive conversion, etc.
- Manage data transfers to and from suppliers.
- Develop and implement excellent data verification processes.
- Effectively lead and manage a small team to help meet the objectives of this role.
- Recruit, induct, coach, mentor, motivate and performance manage team members as required.
- Follow all human resources processes and procedures for managers, including timely completion of performance reviews.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have solid experience in a data-driven marketing role in a fundraising team, along with well developed leadership skills and a passion for driving exceptional outcomes within a for-purpose organisation.
Key Selection Criteria
Essential
- Leadership and management skills and ability.
- Experience in managing data-driven direct marketing fundraising programs to acquire and retain donors.
- Experience in managing regular giving programs, including forecasting and budgeting.
- Excellent project management experience with ability to work on a number of time-critical projects simultaneously.
- Digital fundraising experience.
- Community fundraising experience.
- Budget management experience.
- Experience using a CRM, including data extraction and reporting.
- Ability to analyse direct marketing, regular giving and community fundraising results.
Desirable
- Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics CRM
- Budget management experience
