Merchandising Assistant

Our Modular, Space and Range Planning team are at the heart of our business and make crucial ranging decisions for our stores, which provide our customers with compelling ranges that are deployed in the most cost-effective way. We are currently looking for a Merchandising Assistant to join our functions transformation team, providing support for our current systems while also being part of the development and delivery of new technologies.

You will be joining our award-winning Space, Range and Modular Planning Team which is famous for putting the customer at the heart of our decision-making. You'll also be given the opportunity be part of the largest technology transformation program Asda has ever delivered!

The ins and outs:

As Merchandising Assistant, you'll be responsible for supporting multiple teams of analysts across our Food and General Merchandise business with process guidance, training and technical support. You'll also play a key role in supporting the delivery of our new technology platform for the Modular, Space and Range team.

You'll work closely with our operational teams to ensure the right level of engagement and support is in place to help deliver their strategies.

This will include;

• Ensuring all operational merchandising solutions are fit for purpose
• Resolve issues quickly, effectively and with minimal disruption to our colleagues or customers, within the agreed SLA's
• Coaching and supporting colleagues through ways of working, focused on delivering Asda's strategic plan
• Supporting multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising essential work
• Identify opportunities for innovation, to meet or exceed the needs of our customers and colleagues
• Ensure all solutions make things better for customers, simpler for colleagues and efficient for Asda
• Working alongside our Future Asda Technology team and software partners in supporting the delivery of our new technology platform

What you will need:

• Previous merchandising experience would be beneficial although not essential
• System support experience; previous experience of Blue Yonder category management software would be advantageous
• Data analytics experience
• Ability to work cross functionally and engage at different levels
• Stakeholder communication experience
