Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to join as a Digital Retail Operations Manager to support Grocery Online stores as well as Smart Shop and Market Place with the Store Managers/Customer & Trading Managers/Area Managers and Head of Stores as the main stakeholders.
This role is to assist the Senior Digital Retail Operations Manager in delivering the sales and the operational plan across the estate, developing individuals and teams to support consistently strong and constantly developing operations. Working across teams and managers to deliver excellence in Operations as well as planning for continued and balanced long-term growth. You will be focused on either Food Digital propositions (Groceries Online, Smartshop, Click and Collect) or Fast Track Delivery.
To be successful in this role you must have Grocery Online/Field experience and an understanding of the operating model within Retail.
More about the role:
- Work across teams to deliver against divisional targets for sales, efficiency and customer service as well as planning for and delivering growth and change
- Ensure our stores/hubs maximise their delivery capacity with significant focus on our highest trading times to support business requirements and customer demand
- Working across the network of store/hub operations to drive the long-term growth plans of the Digital division, balancing the recruitment of colleagues and the capability of management supporting stores over long-term changes in their balance of trade and the impact on store environments
- Practically co-ordinating sales planning and labour movement activity across stores
- Coach, and lead a team of Driver Service Managers to deliver industry leading training to all of our drivers. To ensure our drivers are recruited and trained on time and to the legal standards required
- Support, coach, train and advise retail/hub operations both reactively and proactively; supporting training to store colleagues
- Empowering store/hub and supporting functions to perform with maximum capability with a focus on new initiatives as well as core KPIs; supporting ongoing talent process
- Using a data-based approach to identify focus operations and continuing this approach to formulate and drive improvement plans
More about you:
- Excellent process and system knowledge and knowledge of how Digital channels and how relevant propositions fir into the wider store
- Ability to drive performance through influence; strong coaching skills in both matric and direct line management
- Ability to influence a range of stakeholders across a broad range of structure bands, flexing style based on audience
- Estate operational KPIs, sales targets and labour costs delivered to target; investigating root causes to point of agreed actions and supporting in delivering ongoing improvements
- Delivery through influence – driving performance and focus and working with a full range of stakeholders to drive performance
- Experience of working in a fast-paced environment where you have driven process improvements whilst always keeping the customer and store colleagues at the heart of what you do
- Constantly looking for ways of improving service in the team and ensures colleagues understand how what they do influences the customer
