The Opportunity

As our Product Operations Manager, you will play a huge part in us achieving our ambitions to create a ‘World Class Product Team’ across our c150 person Product team. Your remit and responsibility will be to manage & embed capability initiatives, all focused on improving our ways 

of working and removing inefficiencies for our Product Your work will enable our people to spend more time building World Class experiences and less time working out how. You will report into the ProductOps Lead & be aligned to one of our three Product areas and support c40 people from Director to Product Professional.

You will achieve this by designing new processes, partnering with other Operations teams (including Finance, HR & Recruitment) to equip our Product team with the tools, processes, systems, services and guidance documentation to consistently deliver brilliant Products at scale.

What you'll be doing

Vision and strategy

• You’ll contribute to the strategic ProductOps direction, creating standards and best practices that improve cross-functional collaboration and communication

• You’ll implement continuous improvement opportunities, ensuring the efficient and optimised operation of the Digital Product team, to enable the team to focus on building World Class Products

People Operations

• You’ll create and own processes for Product team specific onboarding and offboarding experiences for permanent and contractor resource

• You’ll own Product team organisation documents and be responsible for keeping these constantly updated

• You’ll facilitate weekly Product team recruitment calls to remove blockers and promote visibility and awareness of progress

• You’ll work with our Finance team to ensure we are in control of our finances and budgets

• You’ll work with the Communications team to ensure Product specific messages land

Training & Development

• You’ll partner with Product Leads to understand training needs and enable the Product team through selection, purchasing/budgeting of training and conferences 

Ways of working

• You will be responsible for ensuring our Product playbook is maintained and advocate its use and drive adoption.

• You’ll create and own Product templates to increase efficiency and consistency across our Product team

• You’ll ensure feedback loops are in place to capture insights and feedback on new practices and methods

Tooling

• You’ll ensure both the software and hardware needs of the Product team are being met

Culture & Community

• Responsible for establishing and maintaining Product communities and knowledge sharing activities with counterparts across BT Group Digital Product teams

• Drive external Product team advocacy
