Job Description
What you do at AMD changes everything
At AMD, we push the boundaries of what is possible. We believe in changing the world for the better by driving innovation in high-performance computing, graphics, and visualization technologies – building blocks for gaming, immersive platforms, and the data center.
Developing great technology takes more than talent: it takes amazing people who understand collaboration, respect, and who will go the “extra mile†to achieve unthinkable results. It takes people who have the passion and desire to disrupt the status quo, push boundaries, deliver innovation, and change the world. If you have this type of passion, we invite you to take a look at the opportunities available to come join our team.
The Role:
Our candidate will be an experienced engineer who is passionate about applying Verification skills and technologies to verify Design For Test (DFT) logic. Our microprocessors are designed using next generation process technologies and operate at extremely high frequencies - demanding custom DFT solutions. The candidate will work with DFT architects to develop and validate these solutions to meet product testability, diagnostic and quality requirements.
Job Functions:
- Perform pre-Silicon and Silicon Functional Verification of next generation high performance Microprocessor designs – specifically Verification of custom DFT (Design For Test) features, logic and microarchitecture.
- Develop and execute on verification testplans at different levels of design hierarchy including unit and full-chip environments. Apply the latest technologies in simulation, emulation and formal verification.
- Develop testbench components including stimulus drivers, monitors and checkers
- Find bugs in the design and work with RTL writers to resolve all failures and discrepancies
- Develop and analyze assertions and coverage terms. Participate in technical reviews of the specifications, design and testplans. Identify and address areas of concern to meet design quality objectives.
- Develop tools, infrastructure, processes and flows to enable functional verification
- When presented with Silicon issues, replicate in the pre-silicon environment and provide debug expertise to root cause the issue and ensure complete validation.
- Document testplans and testbench component plans and drive reviews with peers and partners.
Preferred Skills:
- Documented and demonstrable expertise in at least two of the following:
- Modern computer DFT architecture
- Logic design and Verilog HDL
- Hardware Verification methodology and techniques
- Verification testbench and stimulus development
- Experience working in a Unix/Linux environment
- Demonstrate good communication skills, and abilities to work with a complementary team
Additional Education and Skills that will make you stand out:
- Prior Coop, Internship or RA experience in the above listed required skills
- Experience in scripting languages (e.g. Perl)
- Experience in custom circuit block verification and/or gate simulation
- Experience in Verification languages (e.g. UVM) and Formal verification tools and techniques
- Experience in the application of Emulation to design/hardware verification
- Experience in hardware/logic simulators (e.g. VCS)
- Experience in debug tools or waveform viewers
- C++ programming for either hardware modeling or testbench development or projects of similar scope
Education:
- MS in EE/ECE/CompE/CompSci and relevant experience
