DevOps Engineer - Build & Release
On behalf of our hyper-growth software client, Procom is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer for a full-time, permanent position in Calgary. Working alongside the Development team, you will work on version control systems, CI/CD systems, and release management. There tech stack includes; C++, Visual Studio, TFS, GitHub, and Azure Pipelines.
DevOps Engineer – Job Details:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance systems for building, packaging, testing, and deploying our software products.
- Migrate existing on-prem systems to the cloud.
- Manage our systems and infrastructure as code using IAC & CAC.
- Administer Jira, Confluence, TFS, GitHub, Azure Pipelines, and other systems.
- Assist development teams in modernising our existing software and software development tools and processes.
- Manage the processes around making and releasing betas and official releases.
- Contribute as a member of a small, focused, multi-disciplinary, self-organizing Scrum team, including helping estimate work; being involved in technical designs and decisions; and retrospecting to continually improve our effectiveness.
DevOps Engineer– Mandatory Skills:
- BSc degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, and/or compelling and extensive equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience managing GitHub (preferred) and/or other version control systems.
- Familiarity with a CI/CD system (e.g., Jenkins, Bamboo, Azure Pipelines).
- Experience deploying/delivering releases.
DevOps Engineer – Nice to Have:
- Experience with a cloud service. Azure is preferred but AWS or GCP are fine as well.
- Experience with common programming or scripting languages.
- Experience managing Jira and/or Confluence.
- Experience on a Scrum team.
- Confident oral and written communication skills in English.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop and build sustainable working relationships.
- Ability to manage your own workload effectively and to prioritize between tasks.
