Based in Livingston, this position will form part of a well-established Technology Department and will report into the Finance Platform Engineering Manager. The role will have responsibility for the Billing, Payments & Risk development team who use agile methodologies to build, assure and implement solutions that deliver outstanding capabilities for our teams and customers.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
– Manage the team effectively, providing technical leadership, advice and mentoring where required

– Deliver software solutions that meet functional and non-functional requirements

– Drive continuous improvement by refining delivery predictability and speed, ensuring engineering principles to ensure minimal operational issues.

– Work with the business & technology partners to ensure the right balance between deadlines, constraints and scope of delivery are met, setting expectations and handling risks early.

– Work with Support and Test teams to ensure smooth handover of software at each stage

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
– A solid background in technology, ideally software development within Java

– Experience of managing people in a dynamic environment whilst ensuring quality is key in every delivery

– Extensive knowledge of, and demonstrable experience applying, software delivery methodologies, techniques and practices in a layered software architecture setting

– Solid communication skills – you can relate to people at all levels and are adept at conflict resolution

– Ability to grow an effective self-organising, multi-functional and disciplined team where individuals recognise that team success is more important than individual success

– Ideally some experience of one or more of billing, payments and risk in a medium / large organisation along with related data security principles
